Introduction to Business 2024SP H01

Welcome to BSNS 1553- Introduction to Business

Introduction to the course video.

My name is Bob Babich and I'll be your instructor for this class. I just wanted to mention a few things here to get us started on the right foot.

  • All of this course is online.  Every week you will have a mix of individual assignments and quizzes on Canvas .

  • The textbook is available as a download in the first module. Because the file size is rather large, I'd recommend downloading it right away and use it that way (rather than use it in the viewer in Canvas).
  • I've organized the work by "Modules" so all of your work for a particular week is contained in that module. Click on the Modules tab on the left to see what I mean.

  • Please familiarize yourself with the course on a PC before trying to navigate it with your phone. The phone app is very stripped down and may not show all features.
  • The PowerPoint presentations are located in the relevant modules, as well as a brief outline of topics that you may find helpful. Obviously there's nothing to be graded and they are only there for your convenience.
  • You can also click on the calendar tab above to see due dates for assignments.
  • Here's a link to the syllabus BSNS 1553 - SP 24 - 8 week online.doc Download BSNS 1553 - SP 24 - 8 week online.doc

  • If you've never used Canvas (or want a refresher), this is a great resource Download GettingStaredWithCanvasIn10StepsStudents.pdf

***Start reading the first two chapters immediately. The pace of this course is brisk because of the 8-week schedule and the workload is substantial. ***

Finally, please contact me if you are having ANY problems (Canvas, grades, due dates, etc) in the course. Most problems are easily solved with good (prompt) communication.

My office on campus is D-329 if you ever want to stop by for some individual help or want to chat.

I no longer post specific office hours because I'm always available (within reason) virtually. Please email if you'd like to set up a meeting (either in-person or virtually).

My email is RBabich@KCC.edu (always the easiest way to reach me)

My phone extension is ext 8656.
