Hello class. My name is Catherine Kennedy and I will be your ORIN 1541 Foundations for Student Success Instructor. Together we will successfully complete this course! While this class is short (8 weeks), it is packed with useful information, loaded with important resources, sprinkled with individual assignments, and even a few group tasks that are all designed to support you in your quest to become a college graduate.

I understand what it is like to balance school, work, and a family. I have gone back to college 5 times and I am pondering a 6^th time. I worked my way through school each time. Teaching was not my first career, perhaps this is why you are currently attending college (to change your life)? The last 3 times, I was a wife to my husband of 32 years and mother to our four daughters. I say this to let you know that it can be done. I will share more stories with you as the class unfolds. More importantly, I am here to listen to you and your stories and help you as you travel through this experience.

Speaking of travel . . . I LOVE it. I have explored the United States of America and I have been to 32 states and 2 territories. I have also been to 11 countries. There is so much more to see, but that will have to wait until next year.

This class will give us plenty of opportunities to share our thoughts and our dreams. I look forward to our first class.
